PADS Shelter Volunteers Creative New Ways to Make a Difference

What do some of our regular PADS emergency shelter volunteers do when our clients have been relocated due to COVID-19, and are sheltered in place in several locations? The Ascension breakfast crew recruited friends and neighbors to made care packages for our clients! They made lots and lots of care packages. Each one included snacks, boredom breakers such as puzzles and word search books, a pencil, dental item, hair care item, lotion, soap or body wash, and hand sanitizer. Several bags were specially made for families and included child-friendly items such as stuffed animals, toys and games. Each kit also contains a handmade card from the third-grade students at Ascension School. We know these will be greatly appreciated and we sincerely thank those involved. If you miss your regular PADS shift and are looking for a way to help, please visit www.housingforward.org/get-involved and consider signing up to provide 30, 60 or 120 sack breakfasts or lunches.
