Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County appoints Board Chair
West Suburban PADS' Executive Director Lynda Schueler was recently named the chair of the Board of Directors of the Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County, and will serve a one-year term in this capacity. The Alliance brings together a range of services and housing options for homeless people, convenes a variety of stakeholders to cooperatively set priorities to plan for service and housing gaps, and applies annually for more than $11 million in funding from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In addition, the Alliance is responsible for the biennial homeless count and has made possible a centralized system for homelessness prevention services. Lynda will be joined on the 2014-2015 Alliance board by other suburban Cook County housing and service providers, housing developers, representatives from government agencies and the private sector, community representatives, and people with the lived experience of homelessness.
