Corporate matching gift programs are charitable giving programs setup by corporations in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. For example, if a donor works for Bank of America and donates $100 to Housing Forward, Bank of America will double the donation by also writing a check for $100. Thousands of companies offer matching gift programs.

A few examples include:

• Illinois Tool Works – Triples donations with $3:$1 matches for current employees and retirees of up to $5,000 ($15,000 match) 

• JP Morgan Chase – Matches donations $1:$1 up to $1,000.

• Home Depot – Matches donations $1:$1 up to $3,000 annually per employee.

The impact of these programs can be substantial! Last year we raised more than $15,000 through matching gifts alone. To make it easier for you to find out if you employer has a matching gift program and how to submit for the match, we have started using Double the Donation. We provide you with all the information you need to get your gift matched such as up-to-date company policies and links to online submission forms. All you need to do it submit the information according to your employers guidelines- and in a matter of minutes you could double or even triple your impact.
