House-to-Home Kit Holiday Drive

The  Proviso Township Mental Health Commission, one of our program partners, is coordinating a "House-to-Home" kit holiday drive for clients who are moving into housing.

The need for these items is precipitated by the rapid growth of our Open Door Housing program. Initially projected to fill 65-units of permanent supportive housing by the end of 2016, the program is now expected to be full by the spring of 2015. This is due in large part to the high demand for, and limited supply of, affordable, service-supported housing in our communities. Although funding for the program provides for an apartment, furniture and the cost of services provided, it does not allow for the purchase of household items, which turn a house into a home. 

Items can be purchased through a Target registry list, and everything selected before December 24th will be shipped directly to us and quickly distributed to clients. We appreciate them thinking of us during the holiday season, and thank everyone in advance who chooses to take part.
