Housing is Healthcare.
This past week Housing Forward Executive Director Lynda Schueler and Supportive Housing Director Patricia Stokes attended the Corporation for Supportive Housing’s Annual Summit in Los Angeles, June 5-7.
The CSH Summit brings together national stakeholders in the supportive housing movement and overall housing policy to discuss and begin to solve issues surrounding topics such as developing and managing supportive housing, equity policy, healthcare, system transformation and current innovations in the supportive housing field.
During the Summit, Leticia Reyes-Nash, Director of Programmatic Services and Innovation of Cook County Health and Hospitals System (CCHHS) was a speaker and panel participant on the topic of health and the creation of partnerships like the one we have with CCHHS to find and fund stable housing for those that are frequent users of the emergency room services as a result of their homelessness.
In the coming weeks we hope to share more of the takeaways from the conference including new ways to approach advocacy and strategies changing the face of supportive housing.
