Voter Registration

voter registration

“The right to vote is the basic right without which all others are meaningless. It gives people, people as individuals, control over their own destinies.” -Lyndon B. Johnson

Election Day is coming up on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. This year, you have the opportunity to help elect a new president, vice president, and local officials who will impact your community and your future.

Your voice matters! Anyone can vote if they are a U.S. Citizen over the age of 18. You can vote early or by mail, you can vote if you have never voted before, and you can vote if you have a criminal record or felony conviction.

Housing Forward will be hosting a series of voter registration events for our clients, some of which will also be open to the public.

During these events we will be registering voters, helping request mail-in ballots, providing election day information, and answering any questions.

If you are planning to register, please bring:

  • Last Four Digits of your Social Security Number

  • Your Illinois Driver's License or State ID

If you would like to register to vote by mail and cannot attend one of our registration events, you can do so through the Cook County Clerk.

Please reach out to your case manager or lfoster@housingforward.org with any questions about voter registration.
