In Support of HB 4955

Lynda Schueler, Executive Director of Housing Forward testified in support of House Bill 4955 at the Appropriations Human Services committee hearing. HB 4955 would release funding for housing and homeless services in Illinois.

“The budget impasse has caused many families to become homeless. It ...makes it extremely difficult for adults to maintain employment and for their children to attend school. Releasing $274.7 million in dedicated funds will create the homes, jobs, and economic activity that our state desperately needs,” said State Rep. Emanuel “Chris" Welch (D-Westchester), the bill’s chief sponsor.
